Warm, sunny weather, with a few rain showers mixed in is causing grass to grow. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach has shared a few tips on how to care for a lawn to set it up for success throughout the spring, summer, and fall. It’s recommended that each time you mow the grass blade should be cut by one-third. This means if the ideal height of grass is 2.5 inches, then it should be mowed each time it grows to 3.25 inches tall. Also, avoid compacting the same areas of your lawn by alternating mowing patterns each time you cut the grass. Remember to keep mower blades sharp.
