The Washington Demon boys soccer team suffered a set back Thursday night at the hands of the Fairfield Trojans, falling on the road by a 3-1 score.

Fairfield found the back of the net first, as Brayden Miller beat the Demon defense midway through the first half. The Trojans enjoyed a 1-0 lead at the break. Washington found the equalizer early in the second stanza as Caleb Suchan turned a Logan Escher assist into a goal to tie the game at one. Fairfield answered with nine minutes remaining in the contest with a Shawn Spurrier goal that proved to be the difference. Trailing 2-1 late the Demons were forced to take chances to try tie the game again and the Trojans capitalized with Miller adding a Fairfield insurance goal. Thomas Zimmer finished the game with 12 saves in goal for Washington. With the loss the Demons are now 2-2. They will be back on the pitch Monday when they travel to Iowa Mennonite.
