One might assume that golfing is reserved for only the warmer months, but for the Twin Lakes Country Club in Winfield golfing is year-round. Cindy Beard, the proprietor of Cindy’s Kitchen at the country club says golfers can play a round any time of year weather and golfer permitting. The Twin Lakes Country Club is member owned and maintained. The club does have a groundskeeper, but Beard says some club members will clean up around the courses on their own time.

There is a planned course clean up on May 6th, as members and volunteers are welcome to help with tasks such as trimming the trees and cleaning the clubhouse. Following the clean up that evening will be “Barry’s Pizza on the Grill”, a fundraiser to buy security cameras for the clubhouse. Beard says there was a break in at the clubhouse on April 8th, and the perpetrators stole money and two computers. Twin Lakes typically has a fundraiser monthly, and you can learn more about their events on their Facebook page.
