Virginia Grove will be holding an Earth Day celebration this Saturday. On April 22 from 1 to 3 pm at the Virginia Grove Recreation Area, participants will spend time exploring the woods and learning about plants and animals. Those involved will get to make a treat to bring home for their backyard birds, and they will get to meet one of Muscatine County Conservation’s educational owls. This event is part of a series called Beyond Your Backyard. This year’s programs focus on Iowa birds and birdwatching. The Earth Day Celebration is sponsored by the Community Foundation of Louisa County. The program is free for all ages. Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, April 19. For more information or to register, call Louisa County Conservation at 319-523-8381, or visit their website LouisaCountyConservation.org or their Facebook page.
