The WACO Warrior, Lone Tree Lion, Sigourney Savage and Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves boys track teams all were in action Tuesday at Roth Field in Wayland for the Warrior Relays.

All four teams competed in the Class B Small School Division. Lone Tree won the meet with 161 points. The Lions had nine championships on the night. Casey Shalla took the shot put with a throw of 41’11” and the discus tossing 117′ 10.5”. Niko Gosnell was a winner in the high jump, clearing 6’0”. Jovonte Squiers won the long jump, going 20’11”. Brock Smith won the 400 in 55.01 seconds, he also won the 800 in 2:07.49. Drake Hotz won the 200 in 23.14 seconds. The Lone Tree sprint medley team took the title in 1:41.86, the 4×100 team was also a winner. Other top finishes for the Lions included Ross Swinton runner up in the 3200, Niko Gosnell runner up in the 110 hurdles, the 4×800 team as runners-up, a runner-up finish from the distance medley team, a third place from the shuttle hurdle relay team, and a third place in the 4×200.

Sigourney finished third at the meet with 97 points. The Savages had three championships on the night. Avery Moore brought home the title in the 100m dash in 10.84 seconds, Moore did it again in the 400 hurdles in 56.03 seconds. The 4×800 team was a winner with their time of 9:30.54. Other top finishes for Sigourney included Tyler Crawford as runner up in the 800, a second place from the 4×100 team, Payton Schauf third in the shot put, and third in the discus, Avery Moore third in the long jump, and Bryce Goldman third in the 100.

WACO was fourth out of six teams with a score of 91 points. The Warriors had two championships on the night. Beau Beckler won the 110 hurdles in 16.13 seconds and the WACO shuttle hurdle relay team beat the rest of the field with a time of 1:02.02. Other top finishes for the Warriors included Cornell Hulme runner up in the 100, Elijay McGowan and Jackson Roth second and third respectively in the 400, Colton Horak and Jackson Roth second and third respectively in the 400 hurdles, Tanner Conwell third in the 3200, and the distance medley team taking third.

Winfield-Mt. Union finished fifth with a team score of 61 points. Top finishes for WMU included Bryant Holtkamp second in the discus, a second place finish from the 4×200 team, a runner-up finish from the 4×400 team and Kolten Buster third in the high jump.
