They had to wait an extra day but the Washington Demon and Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys track teams traveled to Williamsburg Tuesday night for the Raider Invitational.

The meet was originally scheduled for Monday night but was moved back due to in climate weather. Mid-Prairie had the top team score of the two area squads with 131 points, finishing in third place overall. Williamsburg won their home meet with 142 points. Mid-Prairie took home seven event championships on the night. Zach Pettit was a two-time winner, taking the 1600 in 4:52.92, and the 3200 in 10:14.67. Peyton Miller won the 400m hurdles in 56.12 seconds, Cary Schaefer captured the 400m dash in 53.29 seconds, Floyd Evans won the 800 in 2:06.15, Levi Duwa won the shot put with a throw of 55’11”, and the Golden Hawk 4×800 team of Marshall Teets, Brent Foster, Quinn Schmidt and Floyd Evans were champs in 8:38.74.

Other top finishers for the Golden Hawks included Terrhyn Jacoby finishing as runner up in the 100 and 200m dashes, Quinn Schmidt was fourth in the 400m dash, Andrew Schwartz was fourth in the 1600, Brent Foster fourth in the 400 hurdles, Kyle Miller third and Marshal Teets fourth in the high jump, the 4×400 relay team of Miller, Schaefer, Teets and Schmidt took third, the Golden Hawk sprint medley team of Terryhn Jacoby, Grant Boyse, Cary Schaefer and Peyton Miller finished as runners-up.

The Washington Demons were seventh out of eight teams competing with their overall score of 52.50 points. Top finishes for the Demons included Caleb Bex finishing as runner up in the 100m hurdles, Ethan Hunt third in the 400m dash, Brennan Horak fourth in the 3200m run, and Tanner Murphy third in the 200.

Washington and Mid-Prairie will both be in action Thursday at the Demon Relays at Case Field in Washington.
