Dr. Alison Robertson, ISU Extension Plant Pathologist, sharing how to ID common corn diseases.
A multi-session workshop is being offered locally for women landowners, farmers, and ag retailers who are interested in learning more about agronomy. For the second year in a row Agronomy in the Field will be offered at the Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm near Crawfordsville. The goals of the series are to strengthen agronomic skills for women that allow for better decision making, provide a better understanding of inputs for crop production, see and understand different conservation practices, and increase confidence in communication with their spouse, farming partner, ag retailer or tenant. The series is designed to be hands-on and conducted in the field to see real time conditions. Agronomy in the Field is sponsored by ISU Extension and Outreach with local support provided by Washington County Extension. There is no fee to participate and women aren’t required to attend every session. The first session is scheduled for 5 p.m. on May 8 with following sessions happening on June 12, July 10, and August 14. Those interested should contact ISU Extension and Outreach Field Agronomist, Meaghan Anderson, at 319-337-2145, or mjanders@iastate.edu.
