Case Field will be buzzing with early season track competition tonight as the Washington Demons host the annual Demon Relays.

The Washington boys and girls enter this evening’s event fresh off of an appearance at the Raider Invitational in Williamsburg on Tuesday. The Demon boys were seventh at Williamsburg with their night highlighted by a runner-up performance from Caleb Bex in the 110 hurdles, third place finishes from Ethan Hunt and Tanner Murphy in the 400 and 200 respectively while Brennan Horak was fourth in the 3200. The Demon girls were also seventh at Williamsburg in the team standings. Top performances for Washington included Hannah Anderson winning the 100m dash, Ashley Telleen second in the 400 hurdles, and the 4×200 team of Leah Marek, Telleen, Jenah Greiner and Anderson as runners-up.

Several area teams will also be at Case Field tonight including the Mid-Prairie boys. The Golden Hawks were third as a team at Williamsburg Tuesday. The Golden Hawks won seven events including Zach Pettit in the 1600 and 3200, Peyton Miller in the 400 hurdles, Cary Schaefer in the 400m dash, Floyd Evans in the 800, Levi Duwa in the shot put, and the 4×800 team of Marshall Teets, Brent Foster, Quinn Schmidt and Floyd Evans.

Other area schools attending include the Columbus boys and girls, Highland boys and girls, WACO boys and girls and Winfield-Mt. Union boys and girls.

First events kick off at 3:30 this afternoon with action into the evening at Case Field in Washington.
