The Columbus/Winfield-Mt. Union boys and girls soccer teams step outside of Superconference play tonight to take on the West Liberty Comets.

The No. 16 Wildcat boys come into the game with a 1-2 overall record. In their last contest they knocked off Central Lee 2-0.

West Liberty enters play ranked No. 6 in class 1A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. The Comets are 3-3 on the season, they were last on the pitch at the Linn-Mar tournament April 8th. The Comets went 2-1 on the day beating North Scott 2-1 and Cedar Falls 2-1 before falling to Muscatine 1-0. Martin Menjivar-Benegas and Gabe Seele are tied for the team lead with three goals each.

These two sides met last year with the Wildcats scoring a 3-1 win.

The Wildcat girls enter the match with an 0-2 record on the season. They dropped a game to Mid-Prairie at home Thursday 3-2. The West Liberty girls are 1-3 on the season.

Action gets underway at 5 p.m. tonight with the girls at West Liberty and the Wildcat boys at home.
