Events continue today at the state track and field meet as members from Washington, Columbus, and Lone Tree boys’ teams compete.

Caleb Bex was the one qualifier from the Demons and he will compete in the prelims for 110m hurdles. His best time of 15.33 seconds was third in the Southeast Conference.

Abel Mena represents the Wildcats as he participates in the 400m hurdles where he had the second fastest time in the Southeast Iowa Superconference in 58.01 seconds.

It’s a busy day for the Lions as they have four events battling for the titles. Niko Gosnell is a member to keep an eye on as his best leap of 6’8’’ is the second highest jump in the state for class 1A. Casey Shalla has shown promise in the discus as his best heave of 132 feet is fourth in the SEISC. The 4×100 and 4×200 will also be on the track as both relays are in the top three of the conference.

Stay tuned with KCII throughout the day for track result updates.
