Washington County and all contiguous counties saw declines in unemployment rates from March to April.
According to the Iowa Workforce Development, Washington County’s unemployment rate went from 3.1% to 2.7%. That’s a change of 800 people without work, to 700. Keokuk County saw the biggest change, from 4.2% to 3.2%, with 160 people unemployed. The state’s rate was stagnant at 3.1%.
