A Washington man was arrested Tuesday for assault with a dangerous weapon.

According to the Washington County Communications Office, a witness called in an assault at about 6:45 p.m. near the intersection of East 8th Street and North 2nd Avenue in Washington. The victim left the area on a bicycle and the suspect’s vehicle was parked in the area. Washington Police responded and the suspect had left the area. At 9 p.m. officers met with the victim at the police department. Police then arrested 32-year-old Joshua Lee Holmes for assault with a dangerous weapon and driving under suspension. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
