Big Day in Des Moines for Area Girls’ Track Friday

There is a full slate of events happening on the Blue Oval today for the girls’ track teams of Washington, Columbus Community, Highland, and Lone Tree.

Hannah Anderson gets things started for the Demons as she will be the favorite in the long jump, holding the top spot in class 3A with a best leap of 18’1 ¼’’. Teammate Ashley Telleen looks to make her presence known in the 400 hurdles as she has the fourth fastest time in the Southeast Conference. The 4×200 relay team rounds out the busy day for the Demons as they have posted the fastest time in the conference.

Shania Boyd headlines the day for the Wildcats as she competes in the 100 hurdles prelims and 400 hurdles finals. Each event she has posted the second best time in the Southeast Iowa Superconference.

The Lions’ Emily Feldman also competes in the 100 hurdles today as she has the fifth best time in the SEISC.

Highland’s 4×100 relay team rounds out the day for the area schools as they carry the second best time in the conference.
