It’s been a “fantastic” year for rhubarb, and that’s one type of produce you should see at the first Washington Farmer’s Market of the season according to Market Master Bob Shepherd. He adds you’ll also be able to find baked goods, asparagus, lettuce, spinach, radishes, and a variety of items for supper. The market changes from week to week with a variety of vendors. There are people who sell burgers, baked goods, photographs, yard decorations, and fresh fruit and vegetables that change as the growing season progresses.

Shepherd shares people can become a vendor for $3 each market they attend. To sign up and get more information contact Shepherd at 319-458-9396 or look for Washington Farmers Market on Facebook. The first market starts at 5 p.m. May 18th in Washington’s Central Park.
