The Columbus boys’ soccer team travels to Burlington for the regional semifinal versus Notre Dame.

The Wildcats earned a semifinal spot on Monday when they took care of business beating Central Lee by a final tally of 7-0. Columbus continues to get valuable production out of their top seniors Eric Cantarero and Ruben Paz. On Monday, Cantarero added two goals to his Southeast Iowa Super Conference leading 21 on the year and Paz grabbed a pair of goals himself to bring his total to 12 on the season.

No. 11 Burlington Notre Dame (13-7) advanced to the semifinals after beating Highland 11-3. Jakob Anderson leads the Nikes having posted 23 goals on the season. T.J. Schramm is a force under the net as he has 112 saves on the year.

The chance to inch one step closer to state begins tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Notre Dame High School.
