The Washington boys’ soccer team traveled to Keokuk on Thursday night where they fell 5-1.

Washington (4-5) came out aggressive by having two shots on goal in the first 10 minutes of the contest, but Keokuk goalie Isaac Dunlap was able to block both of them to keep the Demon offense in check. The tie was broken when Keokuk went up 1-0 due to an own goal by the Demons. This opened things up for the Chiefs by rallying off three straight goals to take a 4-0 lead into the halftime break. The Demons hung tough by only allowing one goal in the second half and got on the board after a penalty kick shot by Caleb Suchan. Thomas Zimmer grabbed 11 saves, adding to his conference lead of 88 on the season.

The Demons will next be in action on Monday where they try to go for the season sweep against Fort Madison.
