On a night that recognized three seniors and one foreign exchange student for the Washington boys’ soccer team they cruised to a 12-2 win against Highland on Tuesday.

After 10 minutes of scoreless ball, it was senior Kyle Anderson who got the party started by scoring his third goal of the year. A minute later, Abdullah Talal found the back of the net and opened the floodgates for the Demon offense as they rallied off five more goals to go into the halftime break up 7-0.

The Huskies showed promise to open up the half by scoring two goals from Jordan Sosa. However, it was not enough as the Demons cruised to the mercy rule win in the 62nd minute. Caleb Suchan, Garrett Ikerd, and Julio Salgado Hernandez each had a pair of goals that led the way for the Demons. All four who were honored before the game contributed to the scoring on senior night with Anderson and John Dillon getting a goal, while Mohammed Alghofili and Owen Horak grabbed a pair of assists. Gabe Zimmer, Matteo Hernandez and Thomas Zimmer rounded out the scoring.

With the win, the Demons move back to .500 with a record of 6-6 as the Huskies drop to 1-12.

The Demons conclude the regular season on Thursday as they host Fairfield.
