In an area softball showdown, it was all Demons Wednesday night as they dominated in an 8-0 win over Columbus Community.

The Demons got on the board in the second inning in part by a Wildcat error that allowed Kinsey Duwa to reach base and eventually score on a RBI single from Alexa Mitchell. Taking a 1-0 lead into the fifth, the Demons broke the game open unloading on four runs thanks to a couple Wildcat errors and a trio of hits, led by another RBI single from Mitchell. The Demons tacked on an insurance run in the sixth and two more in the seventh to cruise to the 8-0 win. Mitchell finished the night going 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI and Haylee Wilson went 3-for-5 with a double. Leading the Wildcats was Shania Boyd going 1-for-3 with a single.

With the win the Demons improve to 2-1 on the young season as the Wildcats drop to 0-3. Columbus gets right back on the diamond tonight traveling to Sigourney, as Washington travels to Fort Madison tomorrow night.
