The Washington softball team is set to face off against Columbus Community tonight for an area showdown.

The Demons (1-1) are coming off of a season opening split against Anamosa on Monday night. Jessie Buchholz looks to continue her hot start to the season having gone 5-for-8 at the plate in the double-header. Molly Sparks appears to be in midseason form as she pitched five shutout innings en route to the Demons’ 12-0 win.

Columbus (0-1) opened up their season in defeat to West Burlington by a final tally of 12-0. Bailey Stroud will lead the Wildcats as she is coming off a 2016 season where she posted a .412 batting average.

The game gets started at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Columbus High School.
