The Washington Demon boys soccer team pounded Fort Madison Monday night at the Washington Soccer Complex by a 6-0 shut out score.

Four Demons scored in the contest with Washington posting three goals in the first half. Tony Torres scored first to open up the Washington lead at 1-0 and John Dillon doubled the advantage to 2-0 with his strike later in the first half. The lead grew to 3-0 when Torres beat the Bloodhound defense for the second time on the night and the Demons would take that 3-0 lead into the half. In the second half Washington continued to dominate with goals from Garrett Ikerd, Caleb Suchan and John Dillon adding his second of the night to finish the scoring. Thomas Zimmer and Benjamin Baughman combined to make eight stops and record the clean sheet for the Demons, their first shut out of the season and first since April of 2016. This was the first time Washington had swept a regular season set from a Southeast Conference opponent since 2014. With the win, Washington is back to .500 at 5-5 on the year as they gear up to host the rival Mount Pleasant Panthers Thursday in Washington.
