In the final tune-up before the postseason the Demon boys’ soccer team lost to Fairfield 4-1 on Thursday in Washington.

In a physical game the Demons got off to a promising start as they took an early 1-0 lead off a John Dillon pass to Anthony Torres in the 12th minute. The Trojans found the equalizer and took a 1-1 tie into the break. Coming out of the half, the Demons had several shots on goal but could not find the net again as Fairfield rallied off three more goals to seal the win. Thomas Zimmer added nine saves to his Southeast conference leading 112 on the season.

With the loss the Demons finish the regular season with a record of 6-7 as the Trojans improve to 8-5.

The time is now for Washington as they host Mid-Prairie for the first round of sub-state on Monday.
