Any time of day or night, during the week, on a holiday, under sunny skies or in inches of snow there are people who help at the scene of emergencies, this week we recognize them during National EMS Week.

This week was first authorized in 1974 to celebrate those who provide emergency medical services. Last month, a Keota High School student fell asleep at the wheel on the edge of Washington and wrecked her car, breaking both legs. Now, Bergen Dalton is thanking those who helped her at the scene of her wreck. Bergen’s mother Amy Dalton also extends a thanks to those who helped at the scene, “Thank you for all you did for her, and being there when we weren’t. It was super scary.” Tonight a tip-night at Pizza Ranch is being held for her and her family to help cover costs. This week is observed across the country to recognize EMS practitioners and all of their work.
