The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team was swept in a River Valley Conference doubleheader by the West Liberty Comets Thursday night Kalona falling by scores of 15-8 and 11-10.

Mid-Prairie jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before West Liberty rallied to tie in the top of the second. The game see sawed back and forth with the Golden Hawks leading 3-2 after two and 5-4 after three before West Liberty scored 11 runs over the final three innings to pull away for the win.

The nightcap featured another slugfest with West Liberty coming out on top of an 11-10 score. The Comets jumped on top by a 3-1 score after one inning to see Mid-Prairie rally at the end of four and hold a 4-3 lead. Just as in game one the Comets asserted themselves late, scoring eight runs of the final three innings of the contest to hold on for a win as a Mid-Prairie four run seventh inning rally saw them come up just short.
