The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball and softball teams travel to Lowden tonight to take on the North Cedar Knights in a pair of conference matchups.

The Golden Hawk baseball team enters play with a 3-0 overall record. The Hawks have collected a win over Keota and a doubleheader sweep of West Liberty. Ethan Danner and Derek Rich lead Mid-Prairie early in the year, each hitting .600. Karson Gingerich has driven in five to lead the Golden Hawk offense. Brad Tornow, Jacob Leonard and Jared Miller each have one win on the hill.

North Cedar comes into action with a 1-3 overall record. They beat the Bellevue Comets 9-8. Aaron Woodward and Carter Johnson lead the Knights hitting .364. Ethan Sahr has the Knights lone win on the mound. Last year the Golden Hawks beat the Knights 12-5.

On the softball diamond Mid-Prairie enters 0-3, in search of their first win of the season. In their last contest the Golden Hawks fell to Mount Vernon 10-0 in five innings Friday. Anna Vilovchik leads the Hawks at the plate, hitting .700 on the young season. Cassidy Rourke has logged 15 innings in the circle for Mid-Prairie. North Cedar is 1-5 enter play tonight. In their last game they fell to West Central, Maynard 10-6. Sam Koth leads the Knights at the plate hitting .667. Alyssa Barnhart has thrown 20 innings on the year and has the lone win for the pitching staff.

These two teams met last year with Mid-Prairie taking a 13-1 win.

Action begins for both games tonight at 7:30 at Lowden Park.
