Applause could be heard in the Wedgewood wing of Halcyon House Wednesday in response to a high school jazz choir concert.

The nine Washington High School vocalists performed a variety of songs, including the Spiderman theme song and Somewhere Beyond the Sea. Resident Laurita Ross had a chance to see her great-niece Lena Adams perform. Ross said Adams had been telling her about science before they sang, “She was telling me about chemistry, which sounds a little different than this, but this is probably a lot more fun.” Adams said she enjoyed performing in the community, and surprising Ross, “It was fun to make everyone happy, and see smiles on their faces.”

The jazz choir sang around Washington Wednesday, including stops at McCreedy Home, Noon Kiwanis, and Halcyon House.
