“I do” will be part of the annual Relay for Life in Washington next month.

Deb Tisor, who is helping to organize the event, shares cancer survivor Angela Freese and her fiance Darryl Nicholson will tie the knot on the bandstand. Tisor tells KCII News that the couple decided it was a fantastic idea “because her life revolved around cancer and the survival, and the fact of fundraising for cancer, and a way to get more participants, hopefully, to the park.” Tisor shares the superhero theme of the wedding and the game on to beat cancer theme for Relay for Life will be tied together.

Also, Tisor believes having the wedding will help others fighting cancer or who have survived treatments, “It’s just the fact that there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel for us. That anything can happen. Marriage can happen. Babies can happen for cancer survivors. It’s just keeping the hope alive that the cure is soon.”

Tonight a captain’s meeting is being held at the Washington County Hospital and Clinics Nichola Conference room. Those interested in forming or leading teams should attend and the meeting will go over the schedule for the event including the silent, live, and dessert auctions, the wedding, and upcoming fundraisers. Relay for Life will be held June 24th in Washington’s Central Park.
