Since 2013 Iowa’s farmland value per acre has declined 17.5%.

According to Iowa LSA, Iowa’s average statewide farmland value per acre last year was $7,183. The historic high was in 2013 at $8,710. From 2015 to 2016, Washington County’s value dropped 5.2%. However, while Washington County’s value dropped, it remained in the $8,001-10,000 range, one of 32 counties to be above the $8,000 mark. Henry, Keokuk, Iowa, and Louisa Counties are in the $6,001-8,000 range and Jefferson County is the tier below at $4,001-6,000.
