The Iowa Mennonite School softball team is back on their home diamond tonight when they welcome the Mediapolis Bullettes to Kalona for their Southeast Iowa Superconference opener.

IMS opened the season Tuesday night falling to the Montezuma Bravettes11-3. IMS finished 2016 at 7-11 overall falling in the second round of the Class 1A regional tournament to Calamus-Wheatland. A season ago IMS was led by Rubye Ney with a .462 batting average, Calli Shaw led the team with 17 RBI and in the circle Hannah Harris worked 93 innings with a 6.38 ERA.

Mediapolis comes into tonight with an 0-2 record on the year, falling to Louisa-Muscatine 15-0 and Highland 10-0. The Bullettes finished last year with a 10-11 overall record. Leading offensive returner from last year for MEPO is Brianna Eberhardt with a .492 average. Ally Vantiger returns for the Bullettes in the circle with her 7-9 record and 3.44 ERA.
