It’s a scenario that every little kid plays out in their backyard. Extra innings, tie game, you’re at the plate with a chance to be the hero.

Former Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk Amber Kral lived that dream Thursday in the NCAA Super Regional Tournament, smacking a solo home run in the 10th inning to break a scoreless tie and give her No. 6 ranked Minnesota State Mavericks a 1-0 win over No. 2 Harding.

The Harding Bison got their revenge in the second game with the Mavericks winning by a 3-2 count. Kral recorded a hit and an RBI in the loss. The loss snaps Minnesota State’s 28 game winning streak and moves the Mavericks into a one game playoff to decide the best of three series this weekend against the Bison. Minnesota State is now 58-7 on the year.
