The Iowa State Track and Field Meet continues in Des Moines and already the KCII-listening area has champions to welcome home.

Mid-Prairie’s Anna Hostetler won the 3000m run with a state record time, her sister Marie took second, also in record-setting time. Jovonte Squiers of Lone Tree claimed the 1A long jump championship. Avery Moore of Sigourney won the 400 in Class 1A. Preliminary races were also held Thursday. Hannah Anderson of Washington advances in the 100m dash. Sigourney girls have the shuttle hurdle relay team advancing, as well as Autum Barthelman in the 100m. Moore will race in the finals in the 200m and Winfield-Mt. Union’s Bryce Robison has advanced in the same race. In the 1A 100m finals Moore and teammate Bryce Goldman advance, as well as Keota’s Jacob Wickencamp and W-MU’s Robison.
