A 31-year-old man who was arrested Saturday for driving 102 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone will have a sentencing hearing next week for a different felony charge.

In February of 2016, Justin Milam of West Chester was charged with two class D felonies, following a fatal car wreck in Wellman. In June of 2015, Milam was driving a vehicle that struck pedestrian Kathy Whetstine shortly after 5 a.m., she died from the injuries she sustained. Milam was charged with involuntary manslaughter and OWI third or subsequent offense. Washington County Attorney John Gish tells KCII News, his office reached a plea deal with Milam’s attorney, “whereby the Involuntary Manslaughter charge would be dismissed in exchange for a guilty plea to the OWI third. No trial will take place on that case.” Milam posted bond for that case, was then arrested for shoplifting in February and posted bond for that charge on April 14th. Milam was taken to the Washington County Jail after the recent pursuit, but is now listed as out of custody.
