The Sigourney girls’ golf team looks for some home cooking when they host the first round of regionals today.

The Savages come in as the favorite to move on to the finals, as their 226 nine-hole season average is the best among all seven participating teams. Look for Kendall Streigle to battle for the meet medalist as her 51.33 average is second among all participating golfers. Sydney Streigle is not far behind with a 52.17 average, fourth best in the regional members. Rounding out the Sigourney top four are Lindsey Wheeldon with a 61 and Sam Bird with a 62.

Lynnville-Sully looks to be the top competitor against Sigourney as they have a 233 stroke season average.

The action gets started at 10a.m. this morning, and continues all day at the Sigourney Golf and Country Club.
