Several KCII area soccer teams will be on the pitch tonight in the quarterfinals of the Southeast Iowa Superconference soccer tournament.

Fresh off of their first win of the season Tuesday in the opening round, the Highland Huskies match up with No. 7 Danville. The Huskies enter the match with an overall record of 1-11. On the season they are led by Caleb Brase with three goals. In goal, Tyler Striegel is third in the Superconference with 96 saves. Danville enters the match with an overall record of 9-1, winners of eight in a row. The Bears are led by the 1-2 punch of Kole Perkins and Mattia Hanusch with 21 and 19 goals respectively. David Shoemaker leads Danville with 13 assists. In goal, Sawyer Foster has made 39 saves. These two teams met on April 6th with Danville taking a 10-0 mercy rule victory. Action begins at Danville High School at 7PM.

In another quarterfinal matchup Columbus squares off with Holy Trinity Catholic. The Wildcats come into tonight with a 7-4 overall record. In their last match they beat Mediapolis 7-0. On the season Columbus is led by Eric Cantarero who leads the Superconference with 15 goals scored. He also has the team lead and is second in the conference with seven assists. In goal, Brayan Camargo has made 44 saves. Holy Trinity comes into tonight with an overall record of 6-8. They lost to Burlington, Notre Dame in their last match 1-0. On the season the Crusaders are led by Nick Pothitakis with eight goals. Bailey Merschman leads the team with 75 saves. These two teams met April 25th with Columbus taking a 3-2 win. Action begins at Danville High School at 5PM.

In a third quarterfinal Iowa Mennonite School hosts Mediapolis in Kalona. IMS comes into the game with an overall record of 8-3 having won back to back games over ranked opponents including a 2-1 win over No. 12 Williamsburg Monday on Senior Night. Seth Danga leads IMS with 12 goals scored, second most in the Superconference. Cole Ours leads the conference with 11 assists. In goal, Blake Bontrager has made 49 saves. Mediapolis enters tonight with an overall record of 4-9, having dropped six straight. They fell to Columbus in their last match 7-0. Caleb Duffy leads the Bulldogs with seven goals on the season. In goal Travis Massner has 114 saves, second most in the Superconference. These two teams met on April 20th, with IMS taking a 4-0 win. Action begins tonight at 6:45PM at IMS High School.

Winners of tonight’s quarterfinal contests move on to the semifinals Saturday at Mediapolis High School.
