A budget amendment for the current fiscal year was approved unanimously at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Supervisor Jack Seward asked if the tax asking was effected and Deputy Auditor Michelle Hyman said no, “Revenues are about the same as the expenditures so it’s about a wash.” She explained $3.5 million was the biggest portion of the amendment and it was for the issuance of the secondary road refunding bonds. Auditor Dan Widmer explains this change was to take advantage of a lower interest rate. She added, public health also had grants and those required adjustments, there were adjustments to the WEMIGA contract, and a $3,000 county match for the East Central Iowa Housing Trust Fund.
