Officials had three operating while intoxicated charges in less than half an hour Saturday night in Washington County, including one where a man got out of his car, urinated, and then got back in the car proceeding to drive.

The first incident happened at 9:45 p.m. in the 800 block of South 12th Avenue in Washington. Authorities received complaints of a vehicle almost hitting a mailbox and being all over the road. Twenty-year-old Lemer Gomez-Lopez of Washington was arrested for OWI first offense, possession of alcohol under the legal age, and no drivers license.

At 10:09 p.m., authorities stopped a vehicle on Highway 92, west of Larch Avenue. The vehicle had been called in earlier stating the driver had stopped at the Highway 1 and 22 intersection, stepped out of the vehicle, urinated, and then continued driving at a high rate of speed and driving on the wrong side of the road. Sheriff’s deputies arrested 29-year-old Jacob Mark Nay of Kalona for OWI first offense.

Two minutes later, a van struck a parked car in the 1300 block of North 2nd Avenue in Washington and the van left the scene. The green mini van was located in the 500 block of North Iowa Avenue and 39-year-old Michael Ryan McDole of Washington was arrested. He was charged with OWI first offense, operating a motor vehicle without consent, public intoxication, failure to provide insurance accident related, and driving under revocation. The damage to the parked car was under $1,500.
