Build a Better World at the Washington Public Library, that’s the theme for this year’s summer reading programs.

Teen librarian Leann Kunz shares there will be a variety of programs for sixth-twelfth grade students, including filling out a BUILD card with squares that have different tasks on them from reading a certain number of minutes to helping pick up trash in the park. Those who fill out these cards qualify for the end of program pizza, movie and karaoke party. Librarian Jenisa Harris adds there are also free events open to the community including a comedic cartoon artist, a trick jump-roper, and a magician. Children’s librarian Jo Wiender says there’s something for everyone from toddlers to adults. The program begins June 5th. Registration is now open for the programs from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
