If you have aluminum cans, plastic or glass bottles filling up in a bag around your house you’ll soon have a new place to drop them off in Washington.

WCDC, Inc., of Washington is opening a can redemption center on Monday. The non-profit helps individuals and families with physical, emotional, and mental disabilities in a variety of ways, including finding employment. WCDC president, Dave Hoffman, says the organization is looking forward to opening the center on West Washington Street, which will provide some minimum wage jobs. This week they are conducting interviews and hiring staff. You can take any item that has a nickel deposit to the facility beginning at 10 a.m. Monday. Hoffman explains for each nickel, they receive about one penny.

Hours of operation:
Monday-Wednesday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Friday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. to noon.
