The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys golf team came up short in their last River Valley Conference dual of 2017, falling to the Durant Wildcats 178-186 at Wahkonsa Golf Course Monday in Durant.

Mid-Prairie was led by meet medalist Noah Schlabauagh and his 42. Other scores for the Golden Hawks included Duncan McCain at 44, Collin Gingerich with 49, Michael Callahan and Ryan Smit each firing 51s and Ryan Slaubaugh ending with a 52. The Golden Hawks are back on the course today when they travel to Saddleback Ridge for the River Valley Conference Championship meet.

Mid-Prairie enters the action with the fourth best nine hole average score in the RVC South at 185, and eighth out of 13 overall. The Golden Hawks are ranked No. 24 in the state in class 2A. The Hawks are led by senior Duncan McCain, who’s 43 average per nine holes places him seventh in the River Valley Conference.

Top team in the River Valley by the numbers is Wilton, who enters play with a nine hole average team score of 169. They are led by Jake Fratzke and his 39 average, best in the RVC South. Other ranked teams in the field include No. 25 Monticello and No. 26 Iowa City Regina. Action continues all day at Saddleback Ridge in Solon.
