Wolves Advance to State as Runners-Up, Hagge Individual Champ

It was a big day for the Winfield-Mt. Union boys golf team Thursday at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.

The Wolves advanced to the state meet as team runners-up out of their 1A district with a an overall score of 331. East Buchanan won the team championship with a 315. Caleb Hagge was meet medalist with a round of 69. Other scores for the Wolves included Nolan Ross 76, Kash Rossiter 89, Graham Hagge 97, Jarod Kadel 99 and Noah Freeman 109.

Also competing at Pleasant Valley were the Sigourney Savages who placed eighth as a team with a 380. Sigourney was led by Kaden Benson with an 84. Other scores for Sigourney included Dustin Haines at 89, Nick Goad with a 99, Brett Streigel 108, Ian Terfehn 115 and Cole Webber 120.

Iowa Mennonite School sent Trevor Leyden to compete as an individual. He finished with a round of 97.

The Wolves advance to the state meet May 26th and 27th at the American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown.
