The Winfield-Mt. Union girls golf team extended their season to the second round of the Class 1A regionals Monday, finishing as runners-up at New London.

The Wolves fired a team score of 425. The New London Tigers were regional champions with their score of 370. Lexee Hartsock led the Wolves with her round of 97. Other scores for WMU included Sophie Kongable 105, Lauren Jamison 106, Haley Rodgers and Lauren Hagge each with 117 and Sabrina Moody 123.

Lone Tree finished fourth in team scoring with a 484. Top finisher for the Lady Lions was Lizzie Edens with a 109. Other scores included Abby Buckman 116, Molly Milder 117 and Shayna Burr 142.

Keota and Iowa Mennonite School competed but did not have enough individuals for a team score. Lauren Imhoff led Keota with a 121, Frankie Johnson shot 122 and Tolee Walker ended with a 141. Lara Kliewer led IMS with a 120, Greta Rempel shot 124.

Winfield-Mt. Union advances to the second round of regionals Monday at Lagos Acres in Keota.
