KCII area schools took over Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Winfield Friday for the Class 1A boys Sectional golf tournament.

The Winfield-Mt. Union Wolves took the team championship with an overall score of 342, advancing to next week’s district meet. The Wolves were led by sectional medalist Kaleb Hagge and his one over par 18 of 73. Other scores for WMU included Nolan Ross 86, Kash Rossiter 88, Graham Hagge 95, Jarod Kadel 100 and Noah Freeman 118.

Though the team’s season came to an end, Trevor Leyden of Iowa Mennonite School advances to districts as an individual with his round of 82. As a team IMS shot 381, finishing in fourth place. Other scores for IMS included Caleb Yoder 99, Roman Slabach and Drake Brezina 100, Tanner Thrapp 105 and Adrian Gonzales 114.

The Keota Eagles were fifth in the team race with their score of 395. Low round for the Eagles came from Riley Conrad with an 89. Other Keota scores included Jack Eakins 96, Avery Conrad 101, Cole Stout 109, Kolton Strand 110 and Branden Hyman 111.

Lone Tree was seventh of seven participating teams with their round of 480. Top finisher for the Lions was Payton Lorack with a 116. Other Lone Tree scores included Erik Edens 120, Cory Krueger 121, Curtis Patterson 123, and Josh Mills 125.

Winfield-Mt. Union and Tanner Leyden of IMS advance to Thursday’s district meet at Pleasant Valley Golf Course in Iowa City.
