The Demon baseball team looks to stay on top of the Southeast Conference standings as they travel to Keokuk for a doubleheader today.

Washington (7-2) will try to rebound from their first losses of the season to the hands of Fairfield on Thursday. There has been no secret for the Demons’ early season success as they lead the conference in batting average and opponent batting average through two weeks into the season. Ryan Loy is doing what seniors do by leading the team having a .484 BA with 14 RBI. On the bump, the Demons have a lot of weapons at their disposal, having ten pitchers that have thrown at least two innings. Kole Hinrichsen has been lights out early, having a 2.63 ERA through eight innings of work.

Keokuk (2-7) is riding high, coming off their first wins of the season beating Albia twice on Wednesday. Despite a slow start to the season, the bats for the Chiefs have been the opposite. They hold the second highest batting average in the conference only behind the Demons. Jake Jones is the catalyst of the Chief lineup having a .440 BA with six RBI.

First pitch of game one gets started at 5:30 p.m. tonight at Keokuk High School. Tune into KCII to listen to the broadcast starting at 5 p.m. for the Washington HyVee pregame show.
