The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball and softball teams are back on the diamond tonight when they travel to West Branch for River Valley Conference action.

The Golden Hawk baseball team enters the fray with an 11-10 overall record. In their last action Friday they split a road doubleheader with Durant, beating the Wildcats 7-6 in game one and falling 11-1 in game two. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Karson Gingerich and his .343 average. On the mound, Brad Tornow is 4-1 with 29 innings of work and a 1.45 ERA.

West Branch comes into the night with an overall record of 5-12, in their last game they beat Camanche 4-3 on Thursday. On the season the Bears are led by Matt Paulsen, hitting .387. Trey Eagle and Tanner Lukavsky each have a 2-1 records for the Bears on the mound and ERAs under three. A season ago, Mid-Prairie swept the Bears by matching 9-1 scores in Wellman.

On the softball diamond, The Golden Hawks are 9-18 coming into tonight’s action. At the Linn-Mar tournament over the weekend they split four games, falling to Cedar Rapids Kennedy 4-0 and Northeast Goose Lake 10-4 before rebounding to beat New Hampton 6-2 and Cedar Rapids Xavier 3-0. On the season the Golden Hawks are led by Kathryn Conway and her .500 average. In the circle Cassidy Rourke has an 8-11 overall record with 133 innings of work and a 4.88 ERA.

West Branch enters play with a 12-19 record. In their last action they split four games at the Clear Creek Amana tournament, falling to Union 4-0 and Central DeWitt 5-3 before coming back to beat Williamsburg 10-2 and Clear Creek Amana 5-2. On the season the Bears are led by Nicki Henson and her .522 average. In the circle Kaiya Luneckas has a 7-8 record with 83 innings of work and a 5.27 ERA. Last year West Branch swept the Golden Hawks in Kalona by 11-9 and 12-8 scores.
