The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team came away with a Saturday split at the Cedar Rapids Prairie Invitational.

Mid-Prairie took down Central Lee 12-0 in game one and lost to Ackley, Geneva, Wellsburg Steamboat Rock 3-2 in game two. Mid-Prairie had 11 hits in their win over the Hawks, scoring in all five at bats of the mercy rule shortened game, including a seven run third inning. Abby Tornow, Jaselyn Robertson, Cassidy Rourke and Tayler Murphy each had a pair of hits. Tornow drove in three while, Clarice Murphy, Kylee Kos, Robertson and Tayler Murphy each had a pair of RBI. Rourke got the win in the circle going five innings, giving up three hits, walking a pair and striking out four.

In game two against AGWSR, Mid-Prairie posted two runs in their first at bat to take an early lead. In the third the Cougars rallied for three runs and that proved to be the difference. At the plate Mid-Prairie was led by Kylee Kos who was two for two with an RBI. With the split, Mid-Prairie is now 6-8 on the season.
