The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team saw their unbeaten run come to an end Friday night at Center Point-Urbana High School, falling in both games of a doubleheader.

The Stormin’ Pointers took game one 10-2. The Pointers scored twice in the first and two more times in the third to go up 4-0. Mid-Prairie got on the board in the fourth with a single run to get within 4-1 but the Hawks would get no closer. Jacob Leonard was one for two with an RBI in contest. On the mound Jared Miller took the loss, he went five innings, gave up six hits, nine runs, walked five and struck out three.

In the nightcap CPU finished the sweep with a 12-2 win in six innings. Mid-Prairie took an early 1-0 lead in the first only to see the Pointers score five in their first at bat. The Golden Hawks were unable to rebound, getting as close as 7-2 in the fourth before CPU scored five unanswered down the stretch to finish the shortened win. In the loss the Hawks were led by Derek Rich who was one for three with a double and an RBI. Ashton Bush got the loss on the mound going 2 1/3 innings, giving up seven runs on seven hits, walking three and striking out one. With the losses, Mid-Prairie is now 5-2 on the year.
