The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team grabbed a pair of victories and the Waterloo Bucks tournament championship Friday.

Mid-Prairie started the day with a 3-2 win over Denison-Schleswig. The Hawks had single tallies in the first, fourth and seventh innings and were able to stop the DNS rally in the seventh at just a pair of runs. In the win the Golden Hawks were led by Keaton Duwa, Derek Rich and Jacob Leonard each with two hits, Duwa and Leonard had an RBI each. Brad Tornow got the win going five and a third innings.

In game two the Golden Hawks crushed Grundy Center 15-0 in three innings. Mid-Prairie scored four in the first, six in the second and three in the third. Collin Gingerich and Brody Miller combined to throw a no-hitter over three frames. Stephen Miller and Ethan Danner led the way at the plate each with three RBI. With the wins, Mid-Prairie is now 8-5 on the year.
