The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team suffered a pair of losses Saturday at the University of Iowa tournament in Iowa City.

In game one the Golden Hawks matched up with class 5A powerhouse Muscatine and fell by an 11-1 count in five innings. Mid-Prairie grabbed an early lead, scoring their only tally in the first inning. The Muskies scored 11 unanswered including a four run fourth inning to run away for the win. In game two Mid-Prairie faced North Scott and fell to the Lancers 5-3. Mid-Prairie again was hot early, scoring three times in the first inning but the Lancers scored once in each of the third and fourth innings, twice in the fifth and one more time in the sixth for the come from behind win. Mid-Prairie is now 1-6 on the year and will next be in action tonight when they host Tipton in a River Valley Conference doubleheader.
