In a night where offense was at a premium, Keota baseball dropped a South Iowa Cedar League barn burner to HLV 14-13.

In a back and forth affair HLV took a comfortable 11-3 lead into the fifth when the Eagles made a game of it. They plated six runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth to become within reach, down 14-10 going into the final frame. The Eagles did threaten with three runs but the Warriors held on for the wild win. Cole Brenneman went a perfect 4-for-4 from the plate with three RBI. JD Stout added three hits and two runs for the Eagles.

With the loss, the Eagles fall to 6-4 on the season as the Warriors move to 9-6. Both teams find themselves in the middle of the standings in a jam-packed SICL. The Eagles get back on the diamond tonight when they host Colfax-Mingo (9-2).
