The Lone Tree baseball and softball teams take to the diamond tonight when they travel to West Burlington.

The boys (12-9) will look to rebound from a 7-3 defeat to the hands of New London last week. The offense will look for a jumpstart as Sam Fuhrmeister delivered the only hit for the Lions in the outing. The Lions are more than capable of breaking out with runs as they have three players batting over .400. Avery Knock leads that group with his .492 BA and 21 RBI. West Burlington (14-5) will present a challenge to the Lions, as they are winners of their last six contests. Jayden Zurita leads the group with a .440 BA and nine RBI.

The softball team (3-14) is coming off a close 4-2 defeat to New London. Skyler Pettit was a bright spot offensively for the Lions, as she had three hits in the game. Chloe Jacque has led the way all season for the Lions with an impressive .442 BA and two RBI. West Burlington (19-12) has had plenty of success this season, as they are winners of seven of their last eight matchups. Makenna Davis leads that offensive charge with a .409 BA and nine RBI on the year.

Both games are to take place at West Burlington High School with the girls playing at 5:30 p.m. tonight and the boys at 7 p.m.
