May Temperatures Slightly Cooler than Normal

May temperatures and precipitation were on par with normal figures.

According to the National Weather Service, in Washington during the month of May the average temperature is usually 60.9 degrees and this past month the average observed as 59 degrees, slightly cooler. The normal precipitation is 4.58 inches and this year Washington observed 4.96 inches. Looking at the year to date figures, the average temperature has been 42.5 degrees, above the 39.3 normal mark; while precipitation is about three-quarters of an inch above normal at 13.5 inches. Cloudy skies with high temperatures near 78 degrees are expected today with a chance for showers overnight, listen to KCII for weather updates.
